Morning Set-Up: Tea, Emails & Planning Ahead
I start my day with a cup of tea and a quick scan of my emails to understand what's landed overnight and prioritise my focus. After writing my to-do list and preparing for my 1:1 with my manager, I'm ready to take on whatever the day brings. Working in HR at ClarusONE is uniquely dynamic, being a joint venture means every decision needs to be fair and aligned across two employing entities, so collaboration is essential.
My Role: People, Processes, Presenting & the Unexpected
I support employees across the full lifecycle, so no two days are ever the same. Because people often need help in real time, I'm used to switching gears quickly. A big part of my role involves presenting, whether I'm sharing policy updates, new processes, or project progress. I especially enjoy using these moments to raise awareness of important Diversity & Inclusion topics, which I'm genuinely passionate about.
Lunchtime: Sandwiches & Conversations
Most days I'll grab a sandwich from Café 49 or Tesco and head to the kitchen area. It's the best place to catch up with colleagues in a chilled-out setting. Before heading back, I always make another cup of tea to keep energy levels high for the afternoon ahead!
Afternoons: Meetings, Deep Work & Everything Else
Afternoons are usually a mix of meetings, focused work, and progressing HR projects. I might be supporting an employee matter one moment and developing training or communications the next. I'm also completing my Level 5 People Professional apprenticeship, which means some afternoons include online seminars that I feed straight back into improving our people practices.
Making a Meaningful Difference
I most enjoy working at ClarusONE because I'm able to support both employees and managers in a really meaningful way, helping to create a positive and fair working environment. I also appreciate the collaborative culture, where ideas are welcomed and there's a shared focus on continuously improving how we work together.
